Online Safety
The internet is amazing. Children can play, learn, create and connect - opening up a whole world of exciting possibilities. But with the digital world changing all the time, we need to work together to keep our children safe.
In school we use a filtered internet service provider that ensures we receive appropriately filtered access to the internet. Children use personal accounts to access the school computers so it is possible to monitor their use of the internet. Children are encouraged to keep their passwords to themselves and regularly participate in sessions where they consider their safety online. We welcome outside agencies, such as the NSPCC to come into school to talk about staying safe online.
In a world where the number of ways in which the internet can be accessed is expanding quickly (games consoles, computers, tablets, phones, home hubs and even fridges!) we would encourage you to follow 4 steps suggested by the NSPCC to keep your children safe at home.
- T - Talk about staying safe online
- E - Explore their online world together
- A - Agree rules about what's OK and what's not
- M - Manage your family's settings and controls
